The main area of importance for our British early years international preschool and kindergarten curriculum in Sathorn, Bangkok using the EYFS curriculum is the social and emotional development of the child.

Attending classes at NODDY prepares children for the future and their formal education. It teaches them compassion and how to behave, both in public and around their peers. The British Early Years curriculum that NODDY teachers focuses on the child’s personal, social and emotional development. It also helps the child improve their communication skills and English language. Finally, the curriculum helps the child develop physically. The physical development helps them improve the motor skills they need for drawing, painting and working with play-dough, as well as climbing, running, balancing and exploring the world around them.

Everyone needs a friend to talk to and laugh with. Children will learn the skills needed to get along with others including:

  • Learning to share
  • To wait for ones turn
  • To be aware of others’ feelings
  • Spatial awareness
  • To listen to instructions
  • To help, and co-operate, and to form friendships with peers

But it is also important to develop in the areas of:

  • Basic hygiene for healthy living, which includes
    • Toilet training
    • Washing hands
    • Eating healthy food
  • Physical exercise
    • Gymnastics
    • Swimming
    • Free play periods
  • Fine motor skills
    • Handling toys
    • Completing puzzles
    • Handling paintbrushes
    • Using crayons and pencils
    • Playing with play-dough
  • General knowledge of the world around us
    • Nature
    • Weather
    • Different cultures
  • Creativity
    • Music
    • Dancing
    • Drama
    • Handicrafts and Art

We also introduce the children to:

  • Language development and beginning to learn reading and writing skills.
  • Basic social manners
 For K2 & Year1:
  • Reading and writing skills introduced through the “Jolly Phonics” system.
  • The “Six Areas of Learning” following the British National Curriculum, Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
 Extended hours

We offer extended hours (not mandatory) so called  Extra - curricular Activities (ECA), for children from K1 age group onwards. The programes are different in each day and aim to support children's interest beyond normal classes such as: Cooking, Football, Tennis, Eurhythmics, Music, Arts & Crafts, Thai Language, etc.

  • K 1 from 12:00 md. to 14:00 pm.
  • K2 & Year 1 from 14:00 pm. to 15:00 pm.

Children staying for afternoon classes will need to bring their own packed lunch (we can recommend some restaurant who provide delivery). They will be able to learn table manners, hygiene and taking care of their personal belongings during midday lunch hours.
